I did not want to do much post processing on this, i.e sharpness. I liked the the softess of feathers of this young Starling. By contrast I really shot his(or her) sharp, wide and elongated neak.

Starlings are very loud and command the area in which they choose to hang out. They do spend a lot of time bathing, which is very amusing to see.

As you wise ones may know they do tend to hang around in gangs and form a flock of flying starlings around sunset, before they roost. I hope you like him.

You really did a good job catching the iridescence and the colors on these feathers. What a great close-up at a perfect moment to catch the beak wide open.

Hi Debz,

This is fantastic! Really good use of you lens' focal range. The bird has a lovely array of shimmering colours in the feathers. You've timed this perfectly showing an enormous squawk or maybe it's a yawn?!
Nice work my friend

Simon

Hi Deborah,
It's very good this close up!
I like so much the expresion got, great timing on it.
The colors and patterns on the feathers are gorgeous.
You got it with so vivid and sharp details.
The tiny tongue is very good.
I like a lot the composition and the way you filled the frame.
Perhaps a little noie reduction on the background would be helpful.
Congratulations and thanks for share it.

Hello Debz,
Great shot of this hungry young starling! They have such a beautiful plumage which you're showing here. I'm surprised how light the feathers are on his had. Great well-timed shot!

How very nice, to see the proces of moulting into the first winter plumage. Great shot!

Nice pose filling up the frame. Action bonus given by the open beak. The rich colours and patterns reveal the beauty of this bird. Well done, Deborah.
