What a lovely photo of this sweet little fellow! Detail, shapness and colour is great, as is the composition and pose of the Wren.
Lovely

One of my favourite small birds. A lovely natural shot, great pov. More focus on the face would be better (in my opinion).
You seem to have a few spots on your sensor, not sure if you were aware of them (I also have the same problem, but haven't tackled it yet...).
Thanks for posting.

Hello Peter,
Excellent close-up of this cute little fellow! The picture is razor sharp and has some amazing details! The colors are natural and very well balanced (warm subject against a cold background). This isolates the subject very well!
I only have one small complaint about the composition: the bird is too close to the center of the frame. I would have left more space in front of it to make the picture more interesting. The excellent OOF background is a compliment for the shot, not only from a chromatic point of view but also because it eliminates any distracting elements from the picture. The great eye contact is also a positive thing, especially with that superb catchlights you captured.
Excellent job with the exposure too! There are no harsh shadows or OE highlights. Everything is rendered superbly! Congratulations and TFS!
With Friendly Regards,
Eddie

Striking shot of this tiny bird, well cropped in to fill the image, focus is just a hair short of the eye, but otherwise very good.

Hi Peter,
That's such a cute little bird. Excellent shot, the sharpness is wonderful and the grey blurry background just how it has to be to give all the importance to the bird. Bravo
Best regards

Another great one!
I think it is better than the previous one!
The worm light and the pose of the bird gives it a nice cozyness.
There is no point discussing details, colors and DOF!
TFS and congrats!

Hi Peter,
Some excellent soft light and a perfect exposure here. The colors and fine detail in the plumage are superb. The long lensand extender combo. did well on the isolatio and sepertaion from a nice OOF backround. Nice camera work!

Hello Peter
What a cheeky looking little Wren. I just love the way their tail points upward and their round little bodies. I can see why the judges loved this image. I love the soft lighting, nice detail and that her natural surroundings are included.

What a fantastic shot, Peter.
I know how hard it is to capture a wren. They are the fastest little birds, and they disappear on you just like that.
Anyway the light on this bird is just beautiful.
the details are exquisite, and I just love that little tail sticking up.
TFS. : )

Hi Peter,
Sorry for late reply, I've been away.
I really like this little wren and think that the best factor is that the light is tremendous, very cold and crisp. There is a decent amount of detail visible in the bird and the depth of field is perfect. I agree with Eddie that the wren seems a little central, other than that it's a delightful portrait.
Very well done,
Simon
