Asiatic Lion (Panthera Lio Persica).
Asiatic Lions once roamed throughout eastern europe,
the middle east, and north west India.
Hunting especially in the past 150 years, has reduced
their range to a tiny corner of India, the Gir forest.
I photographed this lion in Chester Zoo.
Canon 350D+100/300mm zoom lens at 1/500sec at f5.6

Good eye contact and well exposed...
Hi Brian,
I like this tight shot of the king. What a wise and hardened face he's got. Nice detail, a little noisy in the dark areas.
I think this shot needs something to make it stand out more. I have done a workshop to add a simple frame to improve this factor.
