[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
First I will thank you all for the nice comments and words of my previous posts.

Micke (tamrock) and me was out on Fjärilsvägen (Butterfly way9 the first official in Sweden, to play with our macro-lenses. I have a new Sigma 150 macro and it was used för the first time.
It use to be a lot of butterflies and quite big numbers on rare species but it was a very few to find.
Ivan gave me a good explanation, it’s to warm up here over 31C yesterday, and Gävle was one of the warmest places in Europe yesterday. We did find some green underside blue and some other blue ones; instead it was a lot of dragon- and damselflies who really enjoyed the heat.
I found this what I think is a calopteryx virgo female.

The male has dark brown-black wingtips with blue veins. Immature insects often have much paler, browner wings. They have metallic blue-green bodies and blue-green eyes.

The female has dark brown iridescent wings, a white patch near the tip of the wings and a metallic green body with a bronze tip of the abdomen.
Males are territorial, perching in bankside plants and trees. They chase passing insects, often returning to the same perch. Males can stray well away from water, females live away from water unless egg-laying or seeking a mate.

Hi Gert,

A nice capture of this demoiselle,with good colrs and detail,even a smaller fly is added as a bonus,I will travel tomorrow for a few days to the North again,hope to photograph some wild brown bears from a photohide in edsbyn,hope the temperatures will have dropped a bit as it is not so comfortable to drive under these conditions,anyway we will see,tfs

Hej Gert,
Superb capture of a female C. virgo with almost total sharpness against a fine bokeh BG. I like the composition on the fresh fern leaf. No sign of our drought on this picture!

A beautiful macro shot indeed Gert, captured in fine focus against all the greeneries. The colours of the damsel and its environment compliment each other nicely, leading to a fine composition. TFS and cheers,

Great to see you here again and with a lovely capture of a C. virgo female in a fine pose on the fern. Excellent sharp details and lovely colours. This is very fresh as the colour of the eyes have not quite developed yet! Well done!

The illumination on this is lovely. The length of the dragonfly is amazing. The mesh-like wings draw me in, the colors dazzle me, and the photo is very sharp. Thanks for sharing. Oh, the DOF and POV are perfect.
