Hi Paul!
Isn't it fantastic to be able to go many times to the same place and find it every time different? My wife and I do almost every day the same little hike near our house (you can see a picture of it in my last posting) and we are never disappointed. It's always a different light or a different detail that makes it attractive.
Your picture is an interesting combination of natural and artistic effects.
Kind regards
Markus
Hi Paul
Another splendid view from Kimmeridge! Such nice memories from that amazing place... :)
This is a great view point and a very interesting FG element you chose to link your composition to. I like it!
The wood really stands out clear from the water and it adds some more texture, against those smooth, algae covered rocks.
I also like the colors you managed to get above the horizon as well as the lovely clouds formations there.
That being said, it might be the laptop's monitor that fools me again, but i think the contrast is a bit too low and you lost a bit of depth in the FG. I played a bit with your photo (i hope you don't mind and i also hope i'm not too much far off due to the different monitor) to try and give you an impression of what i was thinking about...check the WS.
Anyway, a splendid compo and time of day to illustrate once more the beauty of this bay. Very well done!
Bravo and TFS

Surely, that weathered log made this fine seascape a fabulous one, with some help from the nice clouds illuminated from below. Thanks indeed for this fine wide-angle scene Paul, I had missed your "a pleasure to wach" compositions while I was away...

When heady weather comes in, various ways to be imagined, then always stand by your good stock technique. The very best one can do is remember their roots in photography through repetition of fundamentals and going back to some things which you do well...it teaches in a regimented style almost rote... but leaves a lasting impression.

How fortunate for you that you live close enough to great areas to photograph. My local surroundings are not really inspiring. I love your foreground elements and that great sweep to the far sunset. Nice work.

Hello Paul,
It takes skill to turn an old log into a beauty! Without it this image would not be the same! A very beautiful composition, great DOF and beautiful colours. I expect some of the clouds are caused by aeroplanes though! Not much we can do about that! Well done!
TFS and cheers, Ulla

Hi Paul
Because of your stunning photos I think Kimmeridge Bay must be this mythical magical place. Amazing light and colours, wonderful effect with the slow shutter speed, well composed and perfect DOF. Stunning as ever

One second long exposure with camera on the tripod and you have produced a materpiece of a picture of the sea at almost twilight time, Paul.
The arramgement of rocks and a log in the foreground around which the swirling water has been captured is the most winning aspect of this great image.
Have you seen some images of this genre on photo.net? You surpass quite a few of them here.
Regards.

Tu particular estilo es inconfundible, por belleza, técnica y sobre todo por unos conjuntos con primeros planos "rompedores". Muy buenas tonalidades y toma llena de dinamismo y calma a la vez :-)

Hi Paul!
Beautifull seaview. I like composition with interesting sky, sea and rocks. Long exposured water is great. Also colours of sunset are fantastic.

Hi Paul,
Well what can I say mate - another stunner from you, the foreground composition and flow of water is incredible, and you've captured lovely detail against the sunset - great exposure. I see you've also treated yourself to a 40D? I'm very jealous - they look like lovely pieces of kit - I'd love one!! You impressed so far?? I've unfortunately been so busy recently my photography has taken something of a downturn which is a shame!
Anyway - thanks for sharing this beautiful scene my friend.
Cheers

Hi Paul,
I especially like the little traces of water moving over the surface of the most distant rocks. The stump in the FG does create a nice FG element and hold the eye perfectly. As always the sunsets at a seascape are wonderful and you know how to use them to the best.
