I am glad you decided to post today too. I was too excited by my first fresh butterfly shot not to post it!
So I am delighted to have your lovely maps right next door in the gallery.

Hi Ivan,

How lucky were you to spot these two as a test for your G9? I would say the macro qualities are excellent - but so is the photographer. This pair of Map Butterflies are shown with wonderful colors and details. I love the flower and buds. It's good to be back.

Very much on the order of what Gert did today ellis49 Two are always better than one..and as I was mentioning to Gert...sometiems certain emotions have a way of pulling out the best of talents. For this reason many talented musicians of classical were moved by emotions...music and images work well together too...sometimes I can hear a piece of music which makes me feel and see in a totally different way. And using this scenario, you have done superbly well and I can almost feel you chomping a the bit Ivan. You really love to post your good quality images..Very nicely done. you are indeed a man of knowledge and heart.

I'm glad that you couldn't resist and sended this great photo! Rather hard to capture insects, small and fast flying. Excellent composition with two Maps in interesting pose. Well visible details and thistle as nice bonus.

Hi Ivan I have never seen one before not in the wild. so thanks for posting. You are like me i just could not post on TN. The new little canon has turned out a good close up. but as you have said in your notes a lot depends on how close you can get. You have taken a nice pose of the pair with good detail and colours. well done TFS.

sorry again, I didnt visit TN and your posts recently. I was busy with field projects and books.
Well, this is great macro-shot of very beautiful butterfly pair, I never seen. from POV to sharp details, everything great. Informative notes also great. Thanks for sharing, have a nice weekend my friend

Hello Ivan,

There is a very good moment, with bouth butterflys on the flower, you have captured. Image quality is very good as you have had an amaising DOF covering both insects. Colors rendering is also very good as there are looking vivid and natural.

A nice capture of this two in one. But it is not a typical Ivan's shot. Still then it is a rare one to see. The focus is very good and lovely color saturation. And the composition is also nice. But DSLR is DSLR and PS is PS ;). Thanks a lot for sharing.

Hello Ivan. This little prosumer did wonders in f4 which is not possible with my macro optics. Excellent sharpness and pristine details of this very well metered capture. The markings on the wings are fabulous and yet you have managed to silence the background pretty well. Nicely framed shot and very pleasing to see. Well done and thanks for sharing. Best regards. It was a good idea to post this pair of Map Butterflies, a butterfly I never had the opportuniy to see in nature until now. It seems to progress more North! Not easy to have two butterflies in focus, taking the picture so close. Very pleasant composition.

fine shot of these two maps, but there seems to be some noise in the background on my monitor, so I did a quick workshop. Hope you don't mind. I wonder if the thistle is slightly OE too, but again, might be just my monitor.
