Showy visitors in the backyard:
I found three species of Blue in my yard so far. This is the female of the Idas blue (Lepidoptera; Lycaenidae; Lycaeides idas; Idas-Bläuling). It is a complicated fellow, its larvae live on leguminoses in the neighbourhood of nests of Lasius niger ants. They live in symbiosis with the ants.

ID: similar to Plebejus argus, but the foretibia without a thorn.

Hi Dietrich.
Wonderful picture of so natural scene. I like very impressive a bit back POV and great framing/composition of the image. DOF is great as usual and all details of the butterfly and flowers are shown perfectly. Well detailed and at the same time well blurred BG is fie too. Flash lighting is brilliant as always. Bravo. Well done.
Alexei.

Hallo Dietrich
This is really lovely. You have presented us with an image jam packed with wonderful and clear details to appreciate on both the flower and the butterfly. The colours and patterns on butterfly’s wings are really special as we see part of the inside and outside of the wing and in different colours as well. You can fact tap yourself on the shoulder and say well done, because this is a great close-up with great clarity of the especially the eye and the lower wing. Kind regards and thanks for sharing.
Anna

Hello Dietrich!

For first look it looks like Plebejus argus which is rather common on TN. But as you wrote this is totally different specie, so congratulations for this catch! Good POV with well visible both sides of wings. Also well composed with pink flowers.

Hello Dietrich. Excellent framing exposing lower and upper wings. Nicely perched with very good sharpness and detail. Very good perch and thanks for sharing. Best regards. Jusni

Hallo Dieter!
