Brown hairstreak - Thecla betulae III
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| A delightful butterfly, far more glamorous than its rather drab sounding name suggests. While colonies can be quite large and the species is not exactly rare it can be quite tough to find. The males tend to congregate at a 'master' tree while the females, once fertilised, wander widely to lay eggs on young Blackthorn (Prunus spinosa) bushes. |

Hi Marx,
Nice to see this image of the butterfly. You have focused well the head of the insect and as you have well chosen DOF covers near the whole body. Image is good showing well the heary body of the butterfly as well as the pattern of the wings. Speeking about wings pattern colors there are wery well rendered in many color tones.
Thank you for sharing,
Cristian
