" The UNKNOWN PEARL of the ATLANTIC."
Layers of lava resulting from former volcanic eruptions, which take on interesting shapes adorn this coastline. This area is full of "natural" & safe
swimming pools. Here curious vineyards are planted on lands devoid of vegitation, protected by stone walls known as the "curraletas."
It has a very unique WINE MUSEUM within the Archipelago. This museum, inaugurated in 1990, illustrates the process of wine making in this archipeago as well as the sociolgical impact of local production.
It is said that this 'mist' from the Atlantic enhances
the grapes with a very special flavour that attracts a lot of turists to this spot.
Hence the locals call it:" The UNKNOW PEARL of the ATLANTIC." |

Hi Aires.
You have shared a very pretty landscape picture. And, in spite of the fact that paints are simple enough, you managed to transfer an originality of these places. Well done and TFS,
Alexei.
Hi friend .... a dynamic shot I like the POV, perspective and note! Take care Ana:)

Pearl of the Atlantic, açores, beautiful place although I have not been there yet but I do know the beauty of this place and with your photos I can see even better,
