Hi Ivan
Being the first posting of this little bird on TN it has joined the ranks of other rare finds and TN firsts in my "RARE & SIGNIFICANT contributions to TN" theme. It is rather easy to confuse this cute marsh bird with the Little crake - Porzana parva of which a number of postings already exist on TN, but this is not the same bird. Your Baillon's Crake - Porzana pusilla is indeed a TN first so congratulations on that.
The noise you speak about does not seem to be a major distraction. I am rather sorry that you were not fortunate enough to get a slight better angle on the bird so that the lighting played a better role. At least the composition, colours, and details are pretty fine. Anyway, nature photography is no easy business and so many factors sometime works against us. Incorrect lighting, subject position, grasses or branches obscuring the line of sight, distance, timing, etc. and I am sure anyone else can add a number of items to the list. Under the taxing circumstances I believe you did a good job with this capture though.
Well done and TFS.
Regards
Loot

Wow, great photo of a dvärgsumphöna! I have only seen one once never getting this close to a decent photo! Well done!
It seems you are lying in the water, Ivan.
Thanks for sharing this!

Hello Ivan
The shot looks good despite the distance from the subject. The bird is also well camourflaged by its b/g which doesn't really help a photographer! The composition, detail and colours are all fine.
Kind regards,
Bev ;-)
Hi Ivan,
I think that this bird is male Porzana parva. I saw this bird in northern Turkey 2 weeks ago. You can see its female photo in http://www.fotokritik.com/535273 . Tank for your contrubituon to NT. Mustafa

This looks like a rare bird, no doubt, Ivan.
It is certainly the first picture of this bird on TN.
Despite long distance, you have managed a reasonably clear shot. Congratulations!
TFS and best regards.

And what a great neighbour this curious bird is!
What a fantastic capture!
And is it really the size of a sparrow?
It must be really hard to find.
Maybe there is a bit of noise but details can be perfectly observed on its plumage and its curious beak and eye.
Congratulations and thank you very much for sharing.
Greetings
Maite

Hej Ivan
You where at right place on right time :)
Nice shot of this rare bird with good details (even heavyly cropped) It is little bit noise but not disturbing. I thing it gives some charm anyway :)

Hi Ivan,
this actually is a nice candid shot of this little Crake, not the Little Crake.
You're right these are quite rare and pretty much only inhabit W.Europe.
The noise isn't that distracting.
Sorry used my quota of :-) for today.

All those technical’s aspects are not important here Yvan as this is so interesting to see new species and more when they were never published on this site :) I'm amazed by the size of this crane as in your picture it looks bigger. This is a beautiful specie with superb colors and so special eye...
You caught a good pose from the bird in a nice composition and exposure. Thanks for sharing it with us!

Hello Ivan,
its always exiting to see a rare bird, and you did very well capturing this crake.
Usually the rare ones make it so diffucult for us to catch them as they now how to hide well ;-).
For what you had to work with you did excellent, the details come through very nicely and the sharpness is quite good.
