The problem why your flower didn't get in focus on the photo is probably that you were too close to the subject. Every lens has a close point, and if the subject is closer than that you won't be able to get it in focus. Check out your lens specification. By the way i use manual focus for this type of situation to ensure to exactly get the thing i want in focus, so if your camera is able to do that try it out! The point of view and the colors are nice, please keep on trying!
