Hi Michael,
You have made a very good close-up of this insect showing it sharply. I like the fine details that can be observed in your photo. You have captured a very fine light so that colors are looking well being natural and saturated.
A note should have been usefull.

Hi Michael,
this is a truly stunning portrait of a Bee fly, Michael. You did a professional job, the lighting, background, composition DOF, DOV, all perfect. Great, how the drop is held in the proboscis
ID: it's hard to identify the 40 or more species living in my region, even harder to do it for the Mediterranean region. I found a ID site for Northern Europe: http://home.hccnet.nl/mp.van.veen/bombyliidae/index.html. According to the ID key provided I end up with Bombylius vulpinus Wiedemann 1820 for your species. Its a first on TN!
