[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this photo at "Tombs of the kings", near Paphos. It was November when we visited Cyprus, so seeing this well known spring flower was totally unexpected. At first, I could spot only beautifully marbled leaves growing on the rocks but there was no sign of flowers. Then, when I came out of one of the tombs, there she was! Flowering so beautifully among rocks in the late afternoon sun. This particular specimen was the only one I could find flowering in the whole area.

* Cyclamen persicum *
Common Names: Cyclamen, Persian Violet
Hight: 15-20cm

Cyclamen persicum grows wild in Cyprus (North & South), Turkey, Syria, Lebanon, Israel, Jordan, the Greek islands, Southern Europe around the Mediterranean.
Flowers are usually white to pale-pink, with a deep pink to magenta zone at the base of each petal. The petals vary between 20-35mm long and 10-20mm wide.
The flowers appear between January and early May.
They are the wild ancestor of the florists cyclamen.

This is well composed with this group of beautiful flowers well seen..I like the the contrast of the delicate flowers against the rugged & rocky setting.
