Now that I have sort of unintentionally shot a Lark (Indian Bush Lark) and posted it on TN yesterday, the things seem to be falling in place in terms of my recognition of this family of birds, Ivan.
I notice structural resemblances between the two subjects from the family (yours and mine), except that the one shot by you in Cyprus has a distinct crest.
The bird has been shot in an elegant pose. The profile image shows the characteristics of the bird very sharply and clearly.

Great shot from your Cyprus archives.
Pin-sharp and great focusing... the DOF is superb and separates bird from BG very effectively.
Good detail in the feathers aswell.
I like the composition and eye-level POV.

Hi Ivan, the weather in the UK is very dark and dull at the moment also. This is a lovely shot of the Crested Lark, very fine and delicate looking bird. I love the pov and your composition. Great focus and good exposure with good light, detail and fine sharpness on the feathers.

Ivan it is nice you could do some serious traveling. Not being able to get out much hurts me in more than a physical way. I see such pictures and remind myself I may yet heal to get this shot myself some day. . It appears as though you were agile...hopefully still are. Real good focus and depth of field here...Colors are just as they should be.
