Tranquil Moon, Cyprus

Another capture from Cyprus along the rugged west coast. This time captured early in the morning when the sea was very calm and the moon descended below the horizen. A polarizer was used to reduce reflection and expose the foreground rocks below the water.

Beautiful framing and I love the expanse of the sky and ocean. The moon casts a low, wonderful ambience of light as it lingers, washing away some of the darkness. Overall, this is a beautiful, peaceful image.

Hi Stephen,
as usual a superb POV and excellent exposure. The CP has worked really well here and helped to add the other dimension of underwater. Very nice detail and colour in the rocks too, very well done!

A very nice seascape captured expertly and a good use of a polarizing filter Stephen, the exaggerated perspective of a wide angle shot gave a great depth to the scene, TFS my friend.

Hi Steve

I see your trip to Cyprus has given you a lot of superb photo opportunities, my friend and you did gret to take advantage of them. I hope i will have some good weather too on my upcoming visit to England soon :)
The atmosphere in this shot is simply outstanding and the exposure you managed is perfect! Is it a single-exposure shot or more photos blended, by the way?
Anyway, the colors are gorgeous and the composition terrific!

I like the soft transparence of below the surface, contrasting with the harsh sharp rocks (in both senses)
