The Troodos mountains, rising to an altitude of 1951 m. above sea level, are covered by a dense forest of pine and other trees.

This picture was taken in the Cedar valley where I got totally lost and as the light was fading I really had to get my bearings and find us a route out of the forest as the road was terrible and my map out of date.

Hello Stephen

Fantastic capture with excellent colours. The handling of light is perfect with no burn in the highlight and still details in the dark areas. Composition is good but it could be imrpoved by taking a few steps to one of teh sides and bring the sun out of centre.
All over a very pleasant picture to look at.

Hi Stephen

Wow... another stunner from you. Love the colour and the composition. :-)

Hi Steve!
Very different sunset, not very colorfull, but beautifull and stylish. Gold colour works great with fragile silhouettes of trees. Great place and great moment.

Hi Stephen,

Well, I assume you made it out of the forest but was it without incident? The tobacco filter does gives this image a nice ambiance. I've been lost twice...no fun...both times on foot. Once in Alaska, we spent an unplanned for night among Grizzleys...and learned compasses are of little use there and landmarks shrouded in cloud; Another time in Utah...makes me thristy just reminiscing. Fortunately one of us had a good sense of direction as there were zero landmarks in that area too. Needless to say, it won't happen again!

Great shot. TFS

Evelynn : )

Beautiful use of light - excellent composition!

Hi Stephen,
a beautiful place at a wonderful time, I like the dark image with the rising sun/sundown, I don't know which time, but I know it is very pretty and romantic, thanks

Excellent capture, really like the cokin tabacco filters effect..I quess ya made it out OK. An excursion you will remember with great fondness? ;)
I still have to read about the use of these filters in landscape shots..Any tips you could send my way would be appreciated. :)

Hi Stephen!

Just a fantastic image. There is plenty of details in the FG shadows as well as in the sky highlights. Composition is just wonderfull and well balanced. You should give "Landscape seminar".

ABSOLUTELY A GREAT SHOT, and TFS.

Another wonderful capture Stephen,
Good detail, colours and sharpness.
Composition and lighting are excellent. Good POV and framing. You make very good use of the filters.
Thanks for posting, have a good week.

Stunning photo and scenery. filter works really well. and I love the detail in the foreground. It woudl have been very easy to have underexposed it and lost it all.

This is a wonderful capture. Its so sharp, the lighting is great, as well as the colours. You've captured a great amount of depth in the photo as well, it will be one of my favourites. I love the affect that the filter has created.
