Don,
That's a very good in-flight of a dove, however the background is quite distracting. Even though those birds are mainly found in cities, I think the background takes away from this shot here. Your focus and panning are spot on the bird. Try changing the background and cropping a bit to make the bird stand out more. I think it would greatly improve this shot and put more emphasis on the main subject - this wonderful Rock Dove.
