Hi Ivan,
This species of rock lizard looks somewhat similar to the skinks. A nice capture with excellent composition and fine details showing the entire lizard in focus. A very good POV. Thanks a lot for sharing.

Well Ivan, my friend,
This is a superlative capture of a lizard, showing it in sharp focus from head to tail tip under good illumination and the dorso-lateral aspect is perfect for an identification. It really is very similar to our Anatolian Lacerta laevis, but of course the final verdict will rest with Bayram. Thank you for this excellent example of lizard photography.

Hello Ivan!
This time only a short comment (I am still dreaming about some free time...).
Beaufiful capture of lizard species which - unfortunatelly - is restricted in Europe only to its southern part. I like a pose of this reptile and natual BG. Sharpness, details and DOF are also very good!
TFS and all the best!

Pretty large. Larger than the one I used to carry around in my pocket as a boy but it looks like a bigger version. Mine came to me in 1953 as a young lad and purchased by myself at Woolworth's 5 and 10 cent store...It may not have been wild when I bought it, but it was when I let it go into the woods of metropolitan Park in the outskirts of Cleveland. You have pictured it well Ivan. I had totally forgotten about this type of thing boys used to love...It brings back memories, even if not exactly the same species...great lesson plan sir!

Hola Sr. Ivan.
Interesante foto de esta "Lagartija" Son muy inquietas y algunas de ellas poseen hermosos colores metalicos en verde. Cambian sus tonos de acuerdo a las condiciones que les rodean.
Saludos Luis52.

Hi Ivan
This is a great capture of the rock lizard and what better place than to capture it on the very item that gave it its name i.e. a ROCK.
I love the vertical composition and the almost right angled pose of the reptile, to fit neatly in the shot. It is sometimes rather difficult to shoot these lizards due to their length as the DOF could become rather tricky. However, you did a great job here as the details are splendid and sharp. So too the colours of the rock and the subject appears very natural. At the same time the rock also doubled up as a perfect BG thus enhancing the lizard. Exposure control was well executed.
Good work and TFS.
Regards
Loot

Hi Friend Ivan,
Nice capture of Troodos lizard. Yes the taxonomic status of this species was changed as "Phonicolacerta troodica" (Troodos Lizard)" and this species not only found in Troodos Mts. It prefer all moist habitats from the sea level to high elavations. It is common in everyhere in the islan of Cyprus. It has typicaly a lower number of gular scales and distinct light (white or whitish gray) bands on the lateral sides of the body.It is also one of the endemic reptile lizard species of Cyprus.
TFS friend. Greetings,
Bayram

Hi Again my friend
Apparently i missed this one when you originally posted it...sorry :)
You know me: i love reptile photos especially if they are from Europe ;)
Until now i didn't have the pleasure to travel to Cyprus so i didn't see this species live, but i'm very happy you posted it. To me, it looks very much like the Podarcis muralis we have here (i know there are differences between them, but still... :)
Anyway, you shot is really very good and it has a special "thing": it shows the entire tail - a piece usually neglected in lizard photos.
Of course, the details are very neat and sharp, the colors are very natural and well saturated and the exposure is again well handled.
Bravo and TFS
Horia
