Nice posting. Interesting to look at the flat tail. Note is interesting too. Strange that they are so clampsy on the ground. Why would they go on the ground? Is it to lay eggs?

It is not often that one can see a sea snake with such clarity.
Out of the water, the details are fantastic.
Great POV, excellent focus and exposure.
The snake shows up very well against the darker smooth sand.

I'm always happy to see more snake shots on TN, but this is truely a rare sight!
What a splendid water-snake.
I really like the POV from where you captured it - making the wide and especially "tall" body very well visible.
The colors and details here are also terrific and the contrast with the wet sand is wonderful.
Very good exposure and DOF, as well.
All-in-all: splendid work!

Wow, this really a National Geo shot. Perfect and amazing. Apart from the scales of the snake you managed to get the eyes wonderfully. Well done, you know what you are doing. I hope you did let it go after the shot.

Nice shot. Good Clarity and lighting. But a different POV, may be from a lower angle, almost at the level of the snake, might have produced even better results. But obviously it is easier said than done, specially with such venomous sea snakes!

But one thing struck me after reading your note,... I feel somewhat uncomfortable with the idea of affecting wild animals for taking their pictures. And I feel most satisfied when my taking pictures does not affect them in a any way. Hope your guide did not catch the snake only for the enjoyment of tourists!

Quality wise this picture obviously deserves 2 points, but since I am not sure why this snake was caught, I am awarding 1 point. I apologize if the snake was caught for some purpose other than entertaining tourists.
