Family: Eremiaphilidae
Scientific name: Eremiaphila persica

This is a species that you wouldn't see it much anywhere and they differ greatly from other Mantodea.

This family has only two genera: Eremiaphila and Heteronutarsus.

Eremiaphila species live in warm places and are thermophilous. The are increadibly
cryptic and in contrast to other Mantodea they don't climb the vegetations.

Some people rear the african species of this genus in the terrariums. They are fast runners. They can
tolerate very hight temperatures. When I wanted to take this picture, I had to lie on
the ground but the soil was so hot that I couldn't put my elbow more than few seconds on
it. Nevertheless, this is a favourable temperature for them.
