very nice closeup, TFS Ori
Hi Reza,
nicely composed image, well focussed on the most interesting part: the caterpillar's striking horn at the end. Apparently a signal of mimicry, harmless but trying to look dangerous. The caterpillar's warning colours of black and yellow, however, might tell predators that it is very bad to eat or even poisonous. Could be a caterpillar of the Spurge Hawk-moth (Hyles euphorbiae), or at least of a closely related species.
With thanks, and best regards,
Peter
P.S.: Adding some notes would always be appreciated - such as on the finding place, the circumstances etc.
nice capture of caterpillar. great macro.
