Pelargonium rodneyanum: is a member of the Geraniaceae family and its common name is Magenta Storksbill.
World-wide there are at least 250 species of Pelargonium plus countless cultivars. There are only 11 species in Australia and four of these are naturalised. Exotic Pelargoniums are widely cultivated and mistakenly called Geraniums.
Geraniums have inflorescences with only one or two flowers whilst Pelargoniums have inflorescences with more that two flowers. Pelargoniums also have a small basal spur on the pedicel (flower stalk). Apparently this spur secretes nectar.
Meanwhile back at Pelargonium rodneyanum. It is dwarf perennial herb with tuberous roots and hairy young growth. Basal leaves are narrowly ovate with shallow lobes. They are carried on ten centimetre stalks and are mid or deep green in colour.
Flowers are carried in clusters of up to seven on long slender stalks. Each flower is about three centimetres across and is deep pink to rose-magenta with deeper coloured markings. Flowers are usually profuse and appear from November to May. Sporadic flowering may occur at other times.
Pelargonium rodneyanum is a very showy plant. It is said that in cultivation the species is not long lived.
The Magenta Storksbill prefers full sun or part shade. Try this colourful perennial in containers, rockeries or along garden borders.
Pelargonium rodneyanum occurs in southern New South Wales as well as Victoria and South Australia .
Propagate from seed and cuttings.

Salam Mohamad Ali,
a beautiful shot with lovely colour contrast. Pink on green is excellent. Composition can be improved if you dont put it on the centre too much. Move it a bit to the side would be better. anyway it is a good shot.
Regards,
Foozi
