| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This Mt. Carmel Bee Orchid, first of the season for me, was recorded yesterday in the Sharon region, about 20 km north of Tel Aviv. It is rather small orchid (labellum is about 12 mm long), but quite beautiful, resembling a small bee. Variants of this one appear in the entire eastern Mediterranean area under the names O. attica, O. scalopax, and O. dinsmorei. Those may or many not be the same species.
The blooming season in Israel has now gone into its “explosive mode”, when you cannot follow all the blooming species you want to find and photograph. After all, one has to do other things, as well… |

A very succesful side-close up of this beautiful small orchid Ishi, I think we have the same species here my friend, but none of them are visible yet. TFS indeed!

Hello Ishi,
I like this because of its wonderful details!
It makes one realise how these plants can imitate the characteristics of insects! I definitely thought I was viewing an insect from the thumbnail!
The colours are very vivid and attractive!
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Ishi,
This is a lovely capture of this Ophrys from a nice angle. Excellent sharpness and beautiful colours. A fine composition too. How lucky you're to have all the flowers around you now - here we have storms!
TFS and regards, Ulla
