[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was bird photographing and got lucky to witness a frog feast by some egrets.
Cattle egrets are seen near water resources - usually feeding on little fish, insects and amphibians.
The egrets were wading in mud pools between some vineyards and plucking out frogs .
I noticed that the egret does not swallow the frog immediately but keeps turning it around in it's beak, throwing it down and picking it up again and again and only after some 10 minutes or so it gulps the frog down .....
Camera hand held, out the car's window leaning on the window sill.
Crop+ levels +sharpening in PS. ( no NI )

Belle prise nature. Excellent la capture de cette grenouille par l'oiseau. Photo bien exposé et nette. Merci pour cette envoi.

Ahh - poor frog, but lucky egret. This is a great capture of nature at it's best. That is one big frog too!
Thanks for sharing!

Very good shot, Ido, specially to catch this lively (or deadly, depends who's concerned)action. I like these shots where life, even if cruel, takes part in the shot. Whites are a bit washed out, but it's a dificult task to get that right. Exposure bracketing would have been a solution to overcome this from the beginning. I made a WS, but that's just my personal taste. Bad day for frogs :-)!

Nice moment you captured. You manager quite well considering the white of the bird and dark of frog. I agree with J.Michel about the tighter crop. Good shot.

Ido, Great moment captured. Good sharpness & details seen in this action shot..I would've like to have been there to see it go down! TFS

Very good action shot. That's a great moment you captured. Good handling of whites and background.

Tres belle capture, un grand moment.
Bon travail

Great catch for the both of you ;-))
Good sharpness and DOF. Did you remember to stop down by -1/3 or possibly -2/3 for this white bird? The whites look somewhat hot, stopping down will help get more detail into the whites.

Hi Ido, a very good catch, both of you, and you can enhance this by ceopping tighter, loose some on the bottom and left, and "zoom" in more on the head and frog alone, this will give you a much better and stronger picture and composition.
Very difficult to catch, I have only once beem successful.

Ido, it is a nice moment and a wonderful capture... very intersting composition... I like it so much...

I like that caption very much!!!!! nice capture!

Great capture of nature at its cruelest. I think it's interesting how the egret tortures the frog before eating it, maybe it doesn't want it wiggling all the way down!

TFS,
Alli

Guuush - what a title!
Hard to believe he could swallow the frog.
Nice shot.
