[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
One of the flowers that mark the end of spring in Israel is Campanula rapunculus, known in horticulture as Rampion. This is the tallest (can exceed 1 meter in height) and one of the most beautiful of our 15 campanula species. The inverted bell-shaped flowers are quite big, about 20 mm. The root and young leaves are said to be edible.

In the open flowers one sees only the stigmas and styles (seen in the uppermost half-open flower). The stamen are already withered when the flower opens, after they have coated the style with pollen, to be carried away by visiting insects searching for nectar.

The picture was taken, as usual, in natural sunlight (slightly overcast). No tripod was used.
