[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is one of the six species of Aristolochoa we have in Israel. This is a fairly common evergreen creeper found in the shade of the maquis. The strangely formed flower is a clever trap that attracts insects, keeps them prisoners for a couple of days till the stamen wither, and then releases them to pollinate another flower.
Te “mouth” of the flower is about 10 mm in diameter. The picture was taken in natural light in the shade, using neither flash nor tripod. The depth of field is a little less than I intended, but probably reasonable for the conditions.

Re-Bonsoir

Encore une nconnue pour moi.
Merci pour ces beaux specimens, et pour tes photos si précises, et de qualité
Laurent

Hello Ishi,
Nice shot in difficult light conditions and without tripod! Aristolochia are very strange plants, maybe high in the plants evolution.
TFS,
Catherine

Hi Ishi

A wonderful and interesting specimen. Great exposure control and DOF selection that gave superb details and a lovely isolated BG.

Well done and TFS
Regards
Loot

very nice, try using a tripod, than u will have a much greater depth of field, hag sameach, Ori

very nice too Ishi, this thing looks like it is an alien just hovering about, the colour and detail is excellent, you also have a great GoF to this, good capture and well done... regards h

the DOF looks fine on this, what the problem I have is the noise apparently from Jpeg compression, it's a good shot though

Hi Ishi,
Great capture. It looks like a snake. Details, composition and DOF good. TFS. Regards,
Mustafa

All are excellent!
TFS.
Cheers,

Merhaba Ishi,
This is one of my favourite flowers of the maquis, which somehow looks like a miniature Nepenthes pitcher. You've captured the natural stance and colours perfectly in fine focus my friend, TFS and cheers,
Mehmet

Hello Ishi,
I love these remarkable plants and this flower is unusually beautiful! A lovely capture showing its bright colours and the strange design very clearly. Excellent light and a fine contrasting background too.
Many thanks and best wishes, Ulla

Great shot, amazing use of light and depth. I like seeing the hair in the mouth and the amazingly beautiful sinusoidal shape of the stem.
