[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
One of the last orchids to bloom in late spring is O. sancta, so named by Carolus Linnaeus himself after the Holy Land. The plant is about 15 to 25 cm high, bearing up to 50 flowers. This particular specimen is darker pink than most I like the bird-like buds very much. This orchid, like most late blooming orchids, blooms after the leaves are almost completely withered.

Hello Ishi,
I like this orchis very well! Very beautiful colours and details. It grows also on Lesbos island (Greece). I took photos of it (but not so beautiful) in April 2007.
TFS,
Catherine

Hi Ishi,
Very nice. TFS.

Such a fine specimen taken in a vertical format Ishi, which resulted in a beautiful composition. The open-shade illumination created a nice soft-focus effect - beautiful!

Hi Ishi,
I was very surprised to come across this orchid in the spot of woods by my house.Yours is indeed much darker than mine (just uploaded) and when they are pale they tend to seem somewhat withered unless you get close up (in my opinion). They are a beautiful speciman and I was very happy to come across it.Have a good weekend!
Regards, David
