[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Other “harbingers of autumn”, or at least a sure sign that summer is finally approaching the beginning of its end, are the beautiful flowers of the “Sea Squill” (Urginea maritimum; Liliaceae), shown here not far from the Mediterranean Sea in the light of the setting sun. These can reach up to 180 cm in height, bearing scores of flowers. You may find more details in last year’s posting (www.treknature.com/viewphotos.php?l=3&p=177509). Most of the specimens shown are still unopened, except for the largest one, which has developed in a crooked, uncharacteristic manner.

Hello Ishi,
These interesting tall flowers really stand out very nicely against the dark background. The open flowers look very pretty too. A fine composition in beautiful light.
TFS and all the best, Ulla

Hello Ishi,
A wonderful capture!
The curved flower stems of these Urginea maritima make a great composition against the dark natural BG, the lighting being superb!
Thanks and all the best,
Ivan
