[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Iris haynei, Mt. Gilbo’a iris, is another oncocyclus iris found in Israel. Compare to I. nazarena, www.treknature.com/gallery/photo199982.htm). One finds these flowers on Mt. Gilbo’a, forming the northern border of Samaria. The flower is quite big, with petals up to 7 cm long. It is endangered due to loss of habitat (and too many visitors to the nature reserve).

Image taken under very bright morning sunshine. Not cropped; slightly contrast- and brightness-adjusted; reduced in size and sharpened for TN.

Hello Ishi,
A superb full-frame capture of this beautiful threatened species of Iris. Technically this is first class and taken in fine lighting to show it up well against the OOF natural BG.
