| another pic of this incredible desert plant. This time a long shot, where you can also some desert tulips. Rheum palaestinum (the desert rhubarb), a narrowly distributed, rare and protected plant. It is found only in S Israel (central Negev Desert Highlands), S Jordan(Edom Mts) and N Saudi-Arabia. This unique plant produces 2-3 huge leaves, and blooms only in rainy years, like this year. The flowers which you can see here are nothing like the coin-like red fruits that develop later. |

Hello Ori,
the physionomy of the vegetation of is familiar, but the species is completely unknown for me. This is a very attractive picture, with a superb species of rhubarb. Which is the woody plant associed?
