Taken on a trip to the desert in the south of Israel. This plant - Cistanche salsa (called "Yahnuk Hamelehot" in hebrew) is amazing. It has no above the ground presence except for the flowers that break through the hard ground once a year truly amazing.
This is a parasite plant and it is used in chinese medicine. |
