Little Green Bee-eater is present along the Dead Sea depression south from Jericho and into the southern Arava Valley and the central Negev. It can often be found around human habitation but is also present in Acacia wadis.
Little Green Bee-eater is the smallest of Israel's three bee-eaters, and the only one that is resident. It has a broad distribution across Central Africa, through the southern Middle East and into Eastern/Southern Asia. The blue throated form, M. o. cyanophrys is the subspecies occurring in Israel and is arguably the most attractive. |

Shalom Eyal,
today's post is a colorful bird, not a mammals. This is very beautiful bee-eater species. Your capture great for Merops orientalis. light, colors, focus and eyes contact wonderful as like POV/OOF. maybe several words about this species or photography technic will be nice.
thanks for sharing this beauty and adding mine to your favourite, good night,
Ahmet
This little fellow is beautiful. The colors really stand out, he looks like he's in hunting mode, and I love his pose. The sharpness/clarity is superb and overall, this is a terrific capture.
