[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Silene villosa grows in sandy habitats. Primarily in the desert. But also in the Mediterranrean coastal plain in Israel. WE were lucky to see it in the extreme desert in the morning, after 10:00 the flowers wilt.

Beautiful species. Excellent picture, showin fine and charcteristic details.

One wonders what is the advantage of the plant of having those small sand grains attach to the shaggy hair.

This is quite different to the Silene I am used to seeing.
The most commn of course is Campion,usually ith pink flowers.
