[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The genus Ophrys is a large group of orchids from the alliance Orchis in the subtribe Orchidinae. There are many natural hybrids. The type species is Ophrys insectifera L.1753

They are referred to as the "Bee orchids" due to the flowers of some species resemblance to the furry bodies of bees and other insects. Their scientific name is derived from the Greek word "ophrys", meaning "eyebrow", referring to the furry edges of the lips of several species.

Hi Shir,
Smashing quality dude! Great use of the tripod and long exposure. The DOF is spot-on as the flower is fully focused and I like the strong vivid colours.
Regards, David

nice bluish lip, TFS Ori

Very good capture. I would go for O. israelitica H. Baumann & Künkele, though instead of O. fleischmannii, both on distribution data (the latter occurs only in Greece and on Crete) and on morphological characteristics (the 'mottled' part of the upper lip). Cheers.

Hello Shir.
Excellent DOF and sharpness.Nice light and colors.
Regards,
Nikos.

Hello Shir, a perfect macro shot of this beautiful ophrys. TFS. Regards,
