Syrian Bear's-Breech (Acanthus Syriacus)

Acanthus is a genus of about 30 species of flowering plants in the family Acanthaceae, native to tropical and warm temperate regions of the Old World, with the highest species diversity in the Mediterranean region and Asia. Common names include Acanthus and Bear's breeches.

The genus comprises herbaceous perennial plants, rarely subshrubs, with spiny leaves and flower spikes bearing white or purplish flowers. Size varies from 40 cm, up to 2 m tall.

Nice plant - it is very impressive.
Would be nice if you could catch it with a more uniform background so it stands out more - however, this way we can see the habitat.

love those plants you introducing us too, this one I have never seen before. You always have a nice way to compose you floral photos, which is hard with those tall growing ones. The quality of this shot is great, sharpness, details and lighting are excellent.
