Thanks to Sabine (wishnugaruda) for the update.
It is not a dragonfly, it's a Calopteryx splendens male / Banded Demoiselle male.

A blue damselfly resting on the brambles by the side of Nahal (River) Cziv in the Western Galilee, Israel.
I have always looked for the opportunity to capture this beautiful insect and this lovely speciman obliged.
There were quite a few hopping about amongst the leaves.

Nahal Cziv is a beautiful area for hiking. You can see an image of the area here.

Hi David,
I love your blue damselfly so much, a wonderful insect and you captured it very well.
It's not a dragonfly, it's a Calopteryx splendens male / Banded Demoiselle male.

Hello David,
Beautiful shot of the Blue-banded Damsel. Great sharpness and lovely colour. Pity about the top of the wings having a black background where they get rather lost. Otherwise it is a lovely composition.
TFS and best wishes, Ulla

hello David
very nice pose, good focus, nice colours, just the BG is not emphazing the damselfly because of the dark part in the top
still a beautiful shot
regards

Hello David
A superb shot of the Damselfly.
Beautiful environment captured very well.
Its posture is always quite an interesting sight to watch isn't it?
The colours that they 're seen seem to vary in Asia and Europe.

TFS & Cheers

Hello David,
What a beautiful Demoiselle that you captured here. I never had the chance to see one in real life :) I think that it is an elegant capture with great pose from your superb blue model, details, POV and exposure. Thanks,
Claudine

Hi Dave,
Excellent capture. I especially like the colors and the contrast of the dark damselfly against the light green background.
Great work and TFS, Shir
