Anagallis comes from two Greek words, ana, "again," and agallein, "to delight in". One explanation for the name is that the flowers open each time the sun strikes them and so they could be enjoyed every new day.

Hello Pentti, I haven't seen this flower before. Is it native to the Middle East?
What pretty colours - I love the yellow stamens on the purple petals. Very well presented
