Juda's Tree's (Cercis siliquastrum) flowers have a sweetish-acid taste. They are a nice addition to the salad bowl. The flower buds can be pickled and used as a condiment. Source: Bianchini et al. Fruits of the Earth.

Hi Pentti,
You've given us a very nice representation of a Judas Tree with this brightly backlighted composition. Around here, the purplish flowers bloom first and a little later the leaves appear. I didn't know the flowers could be added to a salad bowl, I'm surely going to try it this spring.
