Made a visit to "HaBonim" beach last week with my good friend Shir (shirgold). The beach is mainly a protected nature reserve and we caught the tulips in abundance and in full bloom.

Tulipa Agenensis Sharonensis
----------------------------

This is the commonest tulipa in Israel and Lebanon, growing in diverse habitats. It is characterized by 3 longer sharp outer perianth lobes and 3 smaller wider inner perianth lobes; the black patch at the base of the inner side of the perianth lobe normally have a yellow stripe at its edge. Its morphological borders with Tulipa systola are not clear and one can see a gradual change between the 2 species. The coastal populations of T. agenensis were described as ssp. sharonensis. At the Jerusalem Botanical Gardens dozens of plants are grown in the grounds and in containers without any irrigation. They bloom every year.

Hola David,
preciosas flores,
bello ambiente y colores...
excelente compo.
saludos amigo.

Hi David,
What a contrasting colours here!
I like the vivid red and the way it stands out on the image.
It's so unusual to see plants flowering around coral formations.
Congratulations and thansk for share.
My best regards,
JM

tulips on the beach...
David, this is simply beautiful!
I would never think of tulips growing close to the sea.. Thought it were to windy for them, but these one are quite short and seem to fight rough weather successfully.
Thank you for sharing

Hello David,
This little natural garden is so beautiful, a paradise-garden on earth. It is not so usual to see wild tulips growing between rocks and close to the sea. Thanks for this window on middle-east nature.
Anne

Hi David,

This is so beautiful. I've never seen such red tulips - in fact I haven't seen a tulip at all since moving from the east coast. The way they are growing around the coral is wonderful.

Hello David,
Wonderful view of these bright red Tulips growing amongst the rocks. I expect the crevices must be pretty deep to make room for the bulbs! Excellent composition, lovely colours and sharp details. Well done!
Many thanks and regards, Ulla

Hi David.
I like your selection of subject for picture. Amazing combination of the alive fine flowers and dead stones. Low POV is also so impressive as well as the nice colours, great DOF and sharpness of the image. My compliments.
Alexei.

Hi David,

Spectacular tulips, very good composition. I like it.

All best regards, Cezar T.
