[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
After posting two Allium species captured earlier this week, let me add another one, photographed on February 29, which I had not had chance to post before. This is Allium tel-avivense, named after the city of Tel Aviv in central Israel, by the Mediterranean shore. It is endemic to the central coastal plane of Israel, threatened by loss of habitat. It grows to up to 80 cm high. The individual flowers in the globular inflorescence are up to 15 mm in diameter.

Hello Ishi,
Interesting to see a species of Alium indigenous to your area, the flowers of it being well captured in a sjharp and well exposed image that shows their beauty to advantage against a contrasting OOF Bg.
Sad to read about its status being threatened by habitat loss, a problem that is common to the Swedish old growth forests that are being felled with the price of timber rocketing up.
Many of our plants, fungi, insects and birds are being threatened in this way with sparsely distributed nature reserves helping only a little.
