The Marbled White (Melanargia titea) is a butterfly quite commonly found in the countries of the East Mediterranean Sea (from Southern Turkey to Israel).
I came across this one on Mt Miron up in the north of Israel.

Flight time: April to June
Wing span: About 55 m"m.
Host plants: Different plants of the Cereals Family (Gramineae, Poaceae).
