Centaurea iberica is one of the commonest weeds of the eastern Mediterranean. In Israel there are several varieties, lfower colours range from dark purple to white or yellowish. Here I benefitted from the shaded background in order to show this nice flowering head. Like many other centaureas, the spines are restricted to the flowering head, while the foliage is soft.

I like wild flowers, wherever they are. I am following your images of wildflowers. I like this one but I would like to see this one from top angle, it has got some lovely colors and its little lost here. TFS.

A very nice composition, it reveals the beautiful detils of the flowerhead.
