[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Crataegus sinaicus (Sinai Hawthorn) is a relict species occuring in Mountain ridges of the Middle East. It is found in the southern Sinai Highlands and again a few hunders kilometers northwards in Mt Hermon. It is a relict of the last ice age when the whole area was much colder, at that times the species occued through the whole area, after the warming it survived only in the muntain ridges. It has nice white blooming, red shiny edible fruits and orangy bark.
