[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Colchicum antilibanoticum is a shy and beautiful plant blooming in October to early November in Mt Hermon and in the Anti-Lebanon mountains. It occurs together with 3 species of Crocus. The flowers appear normally without leaves, which appear much later after snow melts in April. In Israel it is a protected species. This pic was much too bright, raw corrected in Capture NX2.

So beautifull the contrast between the dry and hard rocks against the sparkling fragile dreamlike flowers! Thanks, CarOze

Hi Ori,
I have already made a date with the Hermon Mt this coming spring.....I'm determined to get a look at its unique flora.Sadly didn't have time to explore the woods by my house on Sat. Have a good week.
Regards, David

Hi Ori,

I really like this composition, shows the habitat of the plants nicely. Good job of recovering most of the highlight detail, not too much was lost. That's a lighting situation that will give a reflected-light meter problems every time. When I'm doing "serious" photography, I carry a hand-held incident light meter with, seems to be more accurate in situations like that, but I think you'd still have to close down a little more than the meter indicates to keep from overexposing these white flowers in this setting.

Hi Ori,
I love this kind of plant picture, in their natural habit !
Great shot, not so much over exposed !
