[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Himantoglossum galileum, our local Lizard Orchid, is one of the last orchid to bloom in late spring. It is also one of the rarest orchids in Israel. This year it seems to be a little late. Here you see the bud (about 1 cm across) with the long (up to 7 cm) labellum, all wound up in a spiral.

In the workshop you may see another specimen with the labellum extended, but not fully.

Bonjour Ishi,
Très belle macro très finement détaillée.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
Gérard

Ciao Ishi, great focus on beautiful bud, wonderful light and colors, fine details, lovely blurry BG and splendid sharpness, very well done, ciao Silvio

nice capture, like an emerging embrio, please correct the name to Himantoglossum galilaeum. I must say that I do not support the splitting of H. affine into this name. The next will be a new species in lebanon and a new species in Syria etc. TFS Ori
