Welcome to TN!
Good macro and informative note, but I think you can do something with the composition and lighting. Perhaps shooting a little from the side from father away, but "zoomed" in to compress the space would give some alternative dimension.

Great shot Yitzhak - I like the fine details of the "skin" and the thorny look - I must try to find a similar shot here - just for a try ;-) Welcome to TN - nice to see you here as well.

Esta imagen ya la había disfrutado en TE Yitzhak.
Siendo una imagen de naturaleza, muestra tu toque artístico como pocos.
Gran encuadre y composicion. Colores muy agradables y el detalle de las sombras, perfecto.

Those cacti really make a wonderful graphical subject, Yitzhak. Nice hues of green, and I enjoy the shapes as well as the shadow effects given by the needles. Nice start here on TN ;-)

Yitzhak
There is enough plants and shrubs in Israel to be permanetly displayed here, just go and find them, like you do the rust. This is a nice prickly pear. how to eat the thorny fruit? Fork in the middle, cut off head and tail, slice across middle length wise, take knife and unroll the skin both sides of the cut, place in fridge, enjoy cold!

This is my type of shot Yitzhak. A close up of a cactus. I'm kind of facinated by cactuses, the way the survive... even my bad treatment he he ;) Do you know the name of the cactus? I guess Prickly pear is what you call the fruit right, and not the cactus itself hehe. Great shot.

Its a nice treat to see fruit on TrekNature, Yitzhak.
The details of the spikes are amazing.
We can buy prickly pears in Canada, but they are very expensive. I like them.

This is stunning, Yitzhak. I just discovered TN and find this photo to be wonderful. Marvelous focus on geometry and texture here.
