Hi Ori,
Interesting-looking structure and shows the hooked hairs nicely. I find Galiums easy to ID to genus but rather challenging to ID to species, in many instances.
Looking at my book on plants of the Chicago region, we have 17 species of Galium here, many differentiated by arcane botanical terms, and most of them look very similar.
The terminology for describing those hairs is overwhelming. Are those hairs considered strigose? Strigulose? Strongly retrorsely scabrous? Harshly scabrous? Scaberulous? I get a headache sometimes when trying to key out plants like these. :-)

Hola Ori
