| Glaucium leiocarpum [Papaveraceae] is a “Horned Poppy” of the high mountains of Iran and Turkey, finding its southern range limit on Mt. Hermon in Lebanon, Syria and Northren Israel. The branched hemicryptophye, up to 40 cm in height, blooms with showy flowers, up to 40 mm in diameter, from June to September, typically along road-sides at elevations above 1100 m. The fruit are smooth, up to 8 cm long (right of the flower in the picture). |

Amazingly beautiful macro capture of this horned poppy flower whic i saw plenty around Erzurum (E Anatolia) while i was there.

Très belle espèce, inconnue en France (nous n'avons que 2 espèces de Glaucium). Les couleurs sont superbes et ton image très nette et lumineuse. Belle présentation.
