[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Sternbergia clusiana is one of the striking and protected bulbs in Israel, it is rather rare, found in patches in semi-arid areas. During its blooming time its site are places of pilgrim for many nature lovers. The huge flowers are 6-10 cm long. The flowers bloom before the strong rains arrive later in November-Decenmer, only than the leaves will sprout and the flowers will be long gone. This year we re-located the highest population in Mt Hermon, the first one to bloom.

Hi Ori

A spectacular flower - is this some sort of autumn crocus? (not a real crocus I know) - I had no idea they could be yellow. Nice work.

James

Well, obviously your first take was much better than the latter one Ori, a very arresting flower indeed!
Mehmet

Hi Ori

A well composed shot of this flower erupting from from the rocks. Great sharpness and DOF.

Hy Ori
It is very nice to have this flowers in late autumn. The yellow is so strong, but still not overexposed (I have the problem with overexposing white and yellow). Very fine details also.
My kind regads

What an fantastic image of this big blossom, thank you for sharing.

Bonjour Ori,
Très belle présentation du sujet dans son environnement malgré une lumière un peu trop violente.
A bientôt sur TN pour de nouvelles aventures.
