Kingfishers are always a great subject, but very hard to get near. You did very well with this one. I like the pose a lot.
Good composition and background.

Elroyie, this is another of your top shelf pictures. The bird is crisply in focus, and the DOF is fantastic. The whole bird is fully in focus; I really like that. What I also like a lot about the picture is your background. Firstly it is nicely out of focus, but secondly the bottom of the BG is brown (probably earth in front of the water) like the bird, and on top of the brown it is blue(probably water), again like the bird. Fantastic!

I have never see in real this wonderful bird but I like it. Here its pose for scaning for breakfast is realy nice. Composition of this first of the trilogy is perfect, like colors, exposure, DOF, POV and sharpness...
